Radiant, 12x12", Oil on Wood Panel, 2021
Radiant is a brightly coloured painting made from oil paint on a wood panel. It has a yellow to orange gradient as a background, and a series of rolling hills, bouncing lines, and rounded shapes layer on top. Through the composition and colours, I aim to embody the feeling of hopefulness and new beginnings that arise through a journey to wellness and healthfulness. The energetic nature of the bouncing shapes, and the wiggle of lines are intended to display movement around the image, in an upward motion bringing the eye to the horizon. The top third of the painting is more monochromatic, fading into the bright yellow sky, demonstrating the room to grow and shift through stages of life.
